Today, when everyone has hectic schedules and is always on the go, a home care podcast helps one gain knowledge or insights about elderly care in just a few minutes.
It goes a long way in educating, empowering, and supporting the home care community as the host and the guest share valuable insights, tips, experiences, and advice about home care.
Moreover, such a series offers emotional support to the clients, families, and caregivers alike, fostering a sense of community. As a home care podcast features interviews with experts who share their knowledge and expertise, the quality of care provided at home is improved at the macro level.
Further, listeners stay informed about the latest trends and developments in home care. Among them, the caregivers know the solutions and strategies to manage stress and prevent burnout.
To shed some light on all that is happening in home care, we interviewed a stellar podcaster to bring his perspective on caring for the elderly.
Who Did We Interview?
Caleb Richardson is the CEO at Helperly and podcast producer at Senior Care Academy. Caleb understands the audience’s needs and challenges to convey content that gives them solutions to their most pressing home care problems.
Having started a home care business, Stephen knows the ins and outs of the home care industry at his fingertips. As far as the expertise in senior care goes, there is no stopping him.
Let’s now delve into what he has to say about the home care industry podcasts:
I launched the podcast Senior Care Academy because I know most of the struggles people who want to enter the senior care field face. And I know about these issues because I have built a home senior care company.
The biggest struggle is that it is difficult to get into this industry. So, I wanted to gather all the best minds — who have worked with seniors and delivered positive outcomes — to give their insights and help people caring for the elderly address their challenges.
Another reason why I started the podcast is that people living with elderly loved ones can tune in to it to know the best practices and tips for care at home.
These people would also get to know the options for their elderly loved ones.
In Utah, there is a lot of pressure on families, adult children, and grandchildren to be the primary caretakers for their elderly loved ones. But there are so many resources — insurance, reverse mortgages, savings, etc. — that can make the elderly-carer dynamic be based on genuine care and not just as an attendant to the elderly.
And there is a lack of knowledge regarding the difference between home health, personal care, hospice, and assisted.
These are the two biggest challenges.

Find what you are most passionate about in the senior care or home health space. It will help you sustain the podcast series in the long run.
Otherwise, you will just run out of content to talk about. Besides, listeners instantly get to know whether you care about the content or not.
Invite industry-leading guests who have made a mark in the field. Most of them are very willing to come on board as guests. But make sure you ask thought-provoking questions.
The first is funding. There is a lot of Medicare funding for home health, but most of the time, this funding is for post-accident care, not preventative senior care. It needs to change.
Another significant change that needs to be made is reimbursement for home care agencies must increase. At the current reimbursement rates, it is difficult for home care agencies to grow their businesses.
For someone looking to start their home care podcast, make sure you have a passion for a niche in home care, as it is at the core of sustaining a podcast series.
Always ask pertinent questions from the guests you invite so that the audience gets the answers to the most relevant questions.
And for the best audio quality, use only the latest technologies that will fall within your budget.
