The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) in California has mandated that all Medi-Cal-funded home care agencies implement Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) in two phases.
For Phase I of the California Medicaid program (known as Medi-Cal), all provider agencies were required to use the state EVV system of their chosen vendor. Phase I was implemented on January 01, 2021.
Sandata was selected as the state aggregator for Phase II. Home Health Care and Personal Care agencies in California were allowed to use either the CalEVV system or their preferred vendor as long as that provider could successfully aggregate with Sandata.
