You can tailor your services to meet specific needs and create a work environment that fosters a healthy work-life balance for yourself and your staff.

To shed some light on the same, we interviewed an industry expert to bring her perspective on starting a home care business.

Homecare success story with tanya jocelyn

Who Did We Interview?

Tanya is the owner of the New Beginnings Senior Placements and Services home care agency, which helps seniors find their forever home, and provides mock surveys, business consultation, and compliance support to assisted living facilities.

She has over a decade of experience working in the senior care industry and aims to ensure the highest quality of care and service for seniors and their families. She also endeavors to help assisted living facilities improve their operations and performance.

Let us now delve into what she has to say about starting a home care business:

Question 1. What motivated your decision to start your career in the home care industry?

What motivated me to start doing senior placements is that many agencies do not take the time to know their client and learn what will benefit them when they move to certain places. I zeal to ensure they have all their care needs taken care of when they move.

Question 2. What are the major challenges for your home care agency in your state/city?

My challenges are to get my name out there to the world and to show them the difference between me and my company and the larger companies.

Question 3. What are the technologies that you are relying on?

GoDaddy and Google

Question 4. What advice would you offer to someone hoping to be an owner?

If you want to own a company, be patient and persistent and get to know your clients’ needs and wants. Try to meet them in the middle; give them what they want and ensure they have what they need.

Question 5. What are two key changes you would make to the home care or senior care regulations in your agency’s location if given the opportunity?

Helping seniors get long-term Medicaid should be an easy process. The elders do not know how to use computers and need more assistance than there is to offer at a lower price.

Conclusion

Tanya highlights the growing need for senior care solutions and the fulfillment that comes from providing these. Her experience underscores the importance of understanding client needs and building a client-centric business model.

While challenges exist, Tanya emphasizes patience, persistence, and leveraging technology like GoDaddy and Google for success. If you’re considering this path, Tanya’s advice is clear: prioritize understanding your clients and their needs.

This focus will ensure you provide a valuable service and build a rewarding business.
